Description
A comprehensive and up to date text for all those required to understand early years' policy and practice. It provides a succinct insight into key elements of the national and international political, economic and social agendas that influence and affect young children's lives, and the impact of these on early years' professional practice and provision. It provides a critical examination of policy development and its application within an historical and international context.
Reviews / Votes
I particularly like the critical questions that prompt the trainees to reflect on their own practice and their own understanding. The chapters are organised in a good order and I particularly like the way in which the synthesis of action and knowledge have been drawn together and then applied to challenges of the role of working in EY. Pat Tomlinson writes so well, and the trainees will find her approach accessible.- Helen Childerhouse, Sheffield Hallam University
