Measurement and Analysis in Rotor Systems through MATLABT
Description
This book is first of its kind in the field of identification (or condition monitoring) in rotor system, rotor dynamics, or dynamics of rotating machinery. Barely any tutorial book exists on this topic, making it a valuable resource for students, researchers, and practice engineers. An attempt has been made to correlate examples provided in book with real machinery, where it can be used. Readers can analyze their own rotor system based on diversity of examples offered in the book. Also, all chapters are accompanied with multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and its explanation so that basic ideas can also be cleared in a capsule form. Moreover, most of the problems are supplemented with independent MATLAB codes for exploring the subject with more ease with graphical outputs, wherever necessary.
In this book, detailed steps are provided so that concepts can be understood with ease. Efforts are made to guide the reader by providing hints on how to further explore each exercise problem. This approach encourages broader thinking, enabling readers to create and investigate new problems based on the exercises presented. Fundamental methods and necessary background information are included to ensure there are no gaps in understanding the concepts. For a more detailed and comprehensive grasp of the related theory, relevant references are provided.
This tutorial book covers several aspects of rotor systems. In the present book, Chapters 1 and 2 cover rigid and flexible balancing of rotors, respectively, Chapter 3 covers identification of bearing rotodynamic parameters, Chapter 4 covers basic vibration instruments, Chapter 5 covers signal processing in rotors, and Chapter 6 covers condition monitoring in rotor system.
