Education Costs and Performance

Issues such as the link between the cost of educational programmes and measures of performance are discussed in this book. The author applies cost effectiveness analysis to aspects of provision for 16-19 year olds in a 12 institution case study over three cohorts of students. The principal unit of analysis is the teaching group, but comparisons of performance relevant to policy are made at the level of institutions and the field study material is placed in the context of a critical analysis of the nature of educational costs and contemporary methods of measuring school effectiveness. It is a book which will be relevant to practitioners in schools and school systems who wish to have a better understanding of issues of cost-effectiveness analysis relevant to students of both education management and public sector performance.
