Migrate Successfully to the SAP General Ledger
Description
This guide will help readers prepare their finance organization for migration to the New G/L. For example, many companies plan to upgrade to the ERP 5/6 release and migrate to the new GL in one step, but this book explains that the upgrade should be a separate project to the migration project and gives the reasons why. Significant attention is paid to the use of the SAP Migration Service, and optimizing existing systems and processes for use with the New G/L.
This revision also includes a new chapter on the Migration Cockpit, which is essential to the migration process and replaces the standard IMG migration tools covered in the first edition of the book. As SAP is now mandating use of the Migration Cockpit and moving away from supporting the IMG-based migration tools, this coverage necessitates a new version of the book in order to maintain a reasonable lifetime sales scenario. The revision also includes a complete case study based on the author's recent migration of a very large organization to the New G/L, including the largest-to-date Document Splitting implementation.
