Description
The first edition of this book explored some recommendations of The Bullock Report and related them to the primary mathematics curriculum. This new edition follows up those ideas by considering recommendations in both the English and Mathematics components of the National Curriculum, and tries to show common features of both where talking and listening can be seen to contribute to learning. The group set up to compile the book drew on their own experience and the experience and expertise of others, as well as listening to tapes of children talking to each other and to their teachers.
