Principles of Radar Signals Polarization Theory

The book is devoted to detail presentation of electromagnetic plane wave polarization theory and polarization parameters transformations both the simple devices and point radar objects. The methods of completely polarized waves representation (include geometrical method, Stokes parameters method, Jones vector method, complex planes and polarization sphere methods) are considered in detail. The notion of polarization state proximity and polarization ratio group properties are analyzed. The methods of partially polarized waves using interference laws, (2x2), (3x3), (4x4) coherence matrices, the coherence matrices decomposition using Pauli and Dirac matrices systems, the coherence matrices general form are considered. The problems of electromagnetic waves polarization parameters transformations both by simple device and one-point radar objects are investigated using complex plane and polarization sphere. The problems of radar objects eigenpolarizations, zero-signal polarizations and scattering matrices invariants are considered in detail. The book is intended for radio engineers, radio physics and Ph. D. students.
