Part of a series which looks to the turn of the century and Victorian times, with the help of reconstructions, contemporary photographs, objects and documents. The children in this book try out some of the tools and cleaning materials which their great grandparents might have used, and they discover that keeping a house clean was very hard work at the turn of the century.
