Reviews / Votes
The wonderfully named Butch Karp. Chief Assistant DA for New York County, and his private investigator wife Marlene Ciampi, are at the heart of Tannenbaum's 12th crime thriller. His work shows the practised, sure touch of a genre author who knows just what the fans want. This colourful tale of infanticide, judicial process, intrigue, corruption and murder is a potent brew - not least a hard-boiled prose style, married with lightly worn research, which makes the most outlandish events seem completely authentic. A range of characters is brought to life with a casual vividness that some home-grown authors should envy. This is an author - in real life a successful trial lawyer who has never lost a felony case - who deserves a much higher profile in the UK than he has so far achieved. Hopefully this book will go some way to accomplishing that - if there is any True Justice in this world.More details
