Changing Environments

Changing Environments, the first book in the People and Environment Series, investigates human and environmental processes and changes. Students are encouraged to consider possible strategies for the management of environments today and in the future. Their concept of environment management is built upon an understanding of how and why specific environments have evolved over different periods of time. This book includes global, regional and local environment examples, using a huge range of educational and geographical teaching resources: topographic maps, aerial photographs, satellite images and extensive colour illustration. It does not assume that students have extensive geographical knowledge, and so is suitable for senior students beginning studies in this area. With its three partner books, it provides a comprehensive base for senior school geography, as well as a rich resource for other subject areas concerned with environmental or social studies.
