Although he was Rabindranath Tagore's nephew, he didn't have to bear the burden of his family profile. Abanindranath Tagore remains relevant even today with his expertise in writing, painting, and creating sculptures with his pen, canvas, brush, and mud. He put life into everything that he indited, painted and sculpted. Such was his talent. Atma Smriti is a compilation of Abanindranath Tagore's three autobiographical accounts: Gharoya, Jora-Sankor Dhare, and Apon Kotha.
