Description
The Power of Design provides a compact introduction to the current eleven UNESCO Cities of Design. Each individual city is briefly portrayed with important statistical information and detailed facts relating to its development of design. The highly varied approaches of the individual cities in their use of design as an engine for current and future development are then described in more detail through concrete and well illustrated examples. In addition, there are interviews with designers, activists, organizers and critical observers, which the author conducted either during his travels or through extensive correspondence. The result is a richly illustrated and handy book which combines hard facts with personal impressions and points of view.
