Anne P. Stich, MMS, MPS, PA-C (retired) is an Assistant Professor in the College of Arts and Science with Bellevue University, Nebraska. She is the program director for the BA in Health Science. She developed many of the courses including Medical Terminology to give the undergraduate a strong baseline in medical fundamentals as preparation for professional studies and careers. Anne has a passion for communicating health and wellness information to all comers.As a medical professional, Anne was a certified Physician Assistant, practicing for 25 years and taught other medical professionals for 20 years. From the age of 19, Anne has had a broad range of experiences including operating room technician, medical records, ward clerk, emergency medical technician, medical coding, hospice care, emergency department care and family practice. She served her country proudly in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a Lt. Colonel in 2007. She has written for and co-edited textbooks and written for the National Board of Medical Examiners. Her credentials include a MMS, Masters Medical Science, St Francis College PA; MPS, Masters Pastoral Studies, Theology, Loyola University, New Orleans; Patient Safety Fellowship; BS Physician Assistant, UTMB Galveston; and a Medical Coding Certificate. This extensive familiarity has given Anne a unique perspective on the value of all jobs with in the medical arena and the step up that a good understanding on Medical Terminology will give the learner.
