"C. K. Stead is a leading New Zealand writer with umpteen books under his belt. His penchant is for crisp, ironic observation with supporting detail which, in most cases, seems entirely congruous. He scores highly on verve and he roots out some tasty topics." Ken Gladdish, PQR
