Photography in the Visual Arts

This issue in the "Art and Design Profile" series is devoted to a survey of photography and the photographic image in the contemporary visual arts. Concentrating on those areas of photography which are currently of greatest interest to practitioners of the visual arts, it analyzes photographs by Andreas Serrano, Andreas Gursky, Thomas Struth, Jeff Wall, Joachim Schmid, Susan Trangmar and Catherine Yass. Over 50 artist-photographers are featured in all. In addition, this book includes essays by Susan Butler, Ian Walker, Yves Abrioux and David Allen Mellor. In a special round-up feature, Marina Walker writes on the British performance artist, Bobby Baker.
