Description
With this self-teaching reference residents learn a disease per day. It covers epidemiology, pathophysiology, risk factors, clinical presentations, diagnostic approaches, and treatment of adult human infections. It includes lucid accounts of each syndrome, clinical vignettes to illustrate common and complicated clinical points, key pathogenic characteristics of organisms, and useful figures and radiographs. It presents an innovative bridge between general medicine textbooks and encyclopedic presentations. It is perfect for the 30 day infectious disease clerkship.
Reviews / Votes
"The author has done a service to the infectious disease community by writing a book that can be used in an infectious disease elective. The chapters in this book are designed to complement patient-oriented teaching. Although there are some minor editing oversights, the overall quality of this first edition is excellent. Certainly, it is in keeping with the goal of preventing the "end of the antibiotic era." This book is recommended for individuals in infectious disease electives and those desiring to review basic infectious disease principles." Doody's 20030530More details
