Description
A raucous picture book about difference, diversity and tolerance, from the author of CBeebies' Nikhil & Jay and Sona Sharma.
A rousing verse picture book for 5 years plus, about celebrating yourself but also allowing others to be themselves, and learning celebrate other voices too. Narrated by two different child voices, "Me" and "You", this is a fun young debate about identity, inclusion and respectful coexistence. Joyfully illustrated by Sophie Bass, this is a picture book with universal messages for anyone who's ever felt "put in a box".

Reviews / Votes
Anybody who has ever felt categorised for one reason or another will feel empowered by the universal message Chitra and Sophie have created. Having said that, this is an important book for everybody to read and discuss be that at home or in the classroom. -- Jill R Bennett * Red Reading Hub * My #PictureBookFriday had to be You Be Me - a gloriously upbeat, life-affirming story celebrating ourselves and also cheering on others to be themselves. At a time when the world is a mix of uncertainty and so fragmented, this picture book provides light and love for children to make our world a more positive place. I can't wait to share this with my children at school as we've been on such an EDI (Equity, Diversity & Inclusion) journey over the last 18 months so this is perfect for our library. * Check 'Em Out Books *More details
