Chitra Soundar is an Indian-born British writer and storyteller. She is the author of over 40 books for children, including the award-winning picture books You're Safe with Me and You're Snug with Me, illustrated by Poonam Mistry.
Chitra has lived in more than three countries and has published in Asia, North America and Europe. As well as writing books, she is a speaker, oral storyteller and toe-dipper in writing for the small screen. Her stories are inspired by her close-knit family, her upbringing in India filled with epics and folktales, play-acting and her travels around the world.
Amberin Huq is an Illustration graduate from University College Falmouth. She dreams of a studio in a peaceful place by the sea, but for now, she lives and works under a massive heap of paper in her London studio. Amberin loves to create atmospheric illustrations, lively characters and has a new-found love of working in black and white. She has illustrated books for children of all ages, including Garland of Lights, a joyful picture book written by Chitra Soundar to celebrate Diwali.
