Soopz Kitchen: Indigenous Family Recipes and Stories blends food, story, and the art of gathering. Chef Patricia Soop, a SAIT culinary graduate and founder of a successful Calgary, Alberta catering company, draws on her Blood Tribe roots within the Blackfoot Confederacy to present five curated menus: Celebration, Romance, Elders Tribute, Harvest & Gathering, and Homecoming. Each complete menu features dishes such as sasquatch stew, fry bread, bison bites, berry-braised short ribs, saskatoon berry soup, and inventive mocktails. Traditional teachings from Blackfoot Knowledge Keeper Crystal Many Fingers illuminate the cultural meaning behind the foods and feasts. More than a cookbook, Soopz Kitchen invites readers to gather, honour, and celebrate through food.

Patricia Soop is a member of the Kainai Nation (Blood Tribe) of the Blackfoot Confederacy. She is a graduate of the Culinary Arts program at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and the founder of Soopz Kitchen, a catering company that brings Indigenous foodways together with contemporary culinary practice.
Indigenous Knowledge Keeper Crystal Many Fingers is a proud Blackfoot member of the Kainai First Nation (Treaty 7) who grew up on the Blood Reserve and has made Calgary (Mohkínsɪs) her home for more than 25 years. Crystal is the author of A'pistotooki kii Ihkitsik Kaawa'pomaahkaa (Creator and the Seven Animals, Why Are We Here?) and co-author of Siksikaitsitapi: Stories of the Blackfoot People.
Foreword writer Alex Soop is author of the award-winning books Midnight Storm Moonless Sky and Whistle at Night and They Will Come. He also illustrated the story A'pistotooki kii Ihkitsik Kaawa'pomaahkaa in Siksikaitsitapi: Stories of the Blackfoot People. He is a proud Blackfoot member of the Kainai First Nation (Treaty 7)
