Description
Being illiterate excludes people from making use of some of the most common resources of information and enjoyment available to others. This book aims to provide teachers with a variety of relevant and enjoyable situations through which children, who are not succeeding as readers and writers, are encouraged to try again; to revisit literacy. The experiences are appropriate for use in the regular classroom as well as in special intervention settings, both with small groups, and individual children. The book intends to relate theory to practical ideas for practicing and trainee teachers.
