Ron grew up in a small logging and cowboy community in Oregon. He currently lives in La Grande, Oregon, with his Filipino wife, Merlie. Together, they have three children and five grandchildren. Ron spent eight years in the Philippines and graduated from Calvary Bible Institute in Manila. He is an realtor, tennis player, scuba diver, and referees high school basketball and soccer.
