Jim Skelton is a guitarist, music instructor, songwriter, and business owner. He has played and taught music professionally for over 30 years. Jim studied music at the University of Central Arkansas, then attended the Atlanta Institute of Music, where he was an honor student in guitar performance. He has performed and toured in pop and rock bands, has worked as a studio recording musician and producer, and is a published songwriter and poet. He has shared the stage with artists Joe Walsh and Peter Frampton. He was a student of the guitar legend Jimmy Herring at the Atlanta Institute of Music in 1990. Currently, Jim operates central Arkansas' largest music school, a school that has served over 1,500 families. The school serves students studying guitar, voice, bass, drums, and piano. Jim oversees 30 teachers and is responsible for hiring and overseeing the teaching staff. Jim's school has received numerous awards and was voted the "2017 National Music School of the Year." Jim's school has helped thousands of students learn to accomplish one of life's most satisfying activities: playing an instrument.
