Prof. S. Sivaram is presently an INSA senior scientist and Honorary Professor at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Pune, India. Prior to this, he served as eighth Director of NCL, as CSIR Bhatnagar Fellow and J. C. Bose Fellow of the Department of Science and Technology. Dr. S. Sivaram is a highly decorated scientist with numerous awards to his credit. The president of India conferred the coveted civilian honor, Padma Shri, on Dr. Sivaram in 2006. He has mentored 38 Ph.D. students, over a dozen postdoctoral fellows and serves as chairman of many national and international scientific advisory committees. Professor Sivaram has authored over 245 scientific publications and is cited as an inventor on 52 US patents and 51 Indian patents. Dr. Samir H. Chikkali earned his Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Dietrich Gudat from the University of Stuttgart, Germany. After two postdoctoral stints, he returned to India and joined CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory (CSIR-NCL), Pune, to start his independent research career. His honours and awards include, fellowship from Indian Academy of Science, DPI (Dutch Polymer Institute) postdoctoral fellowship, AvH (Alexander von Humboldt) postdoctoral fellowship, the Ramanujan (DST) Fellowship, Scientist of the Year Award 2017-2018 by NCL-RF and Young Associate of Maharashtra Academy of Sciences. His work has led to 52 publications in international peer reviewed journals, has edited a book and is cited as an inventor on 12 patents.
