Lui Sit was born in Hong Kong, raised in Australia and lives in London. She fell in love with reading, then writing when she learned English at primary school. Branching out, she started writing plays which she took on the road, to Class 4B & C. Poetry replaced plays when, aged 9, she got paid $5 for her first ever publication - A Ballad of War. As an adult, she has worked in the arts, education, publishing and charity sectors, writing in secret at all these workplaces. True to form, she's still writing in multiple genres - children's middle grade, adult short fiction and non-fiction. Becoming a children's author is her definition of, delight. The Wildcat and the Gathering Storm is the second book in Lui's Wildcat duology.
David Dean lives near Manchester with his two cats, and has been illustrating professionally for over twenty years, though he's been drawing since he was old enough to pick up a pencil. For the past decade he has primarily worked as a book cover illustrator and has now created close to 200 covers, for books by some of the UK's best-loved children's writers. That people keep letting him do this baffles him, but brings him endless joy.
