Description
In the present work, ANSYS-Fluent software is used to perform large eddy simulations to study the three dimensional flow past an elliptic cross section cylinder with different axis ratios and Reynolds numbers. The data on the drag and lift coefficients, Strouhal number and pressure coefficient on the cylinder surface are obtained. Also, contours of velocity components, velocity vectors, pressure distribution in the domain, instantaneous streamlines and eddy viscosity are presented for different Reynolds numbers and aspect ratios. This monograph contains useful knowledge on CFD simulation and visualisation of flows. The target audience primarily comprises researchers who intend to enter this exciting field.
