Description
The International Conference of Numerical Analysis and Applied Mathematics 2005 (ICNAAM 2005) consolidates the fields of Numerical Analysis, Computational Mathematics and Applied Mathematics. This volume provides the extended abstracts of the conference which was organized by the European Society of Computational Methods in Sciences and Engineering (ESCMCE). Topical contributions to the following research areas are included:
- Refinable functions and approximation
- Numerical methods for the ODEs and PDEs
- Computation of special functions
- Computational methodology for optimal control and multivariate problems
- Application of numerical methods in solving engineering problems
- Computational biology: algorithms and models
- Advances in computational intelligence: theory, methods, applications
- Dirac operators and applications
- Mathematical methods in physical process modelling
Invited speakers of the conference are George Anastassiou, USA; J.R. Cash, UK; R. Cools, Belgium; B. Fischer, Germany; R.W. Freund, USA; K. Gürlebeck, Germany; D. Trigiante, Italy; A. Kunoth, Germany; G. Vanden Berghe, Belgium.

Preface Proceedings of the International Conference on Numerical Analysis and Applied Mathematics 2005 (ICNAAM 2005) Official Conference of the European Society of Computational Methods in Sciences and Engineering (ESCMSE) The International Conference on Numerical Analysis and Applied Mathematics 2005 (ICNAAM 2005) has been scheduled to take place at the Hotel Esperides in Rhodes between 16th and 20th September 2005. The aim of the conference is to bring together leading scientists of the international Numerical and Applied Mathematics community and to attract original research papers of very high quality. More than 370 extended abstracts have been submitted in order to be considered for presentation at ICNAAM 2005. From these submissions we have selected 231 extended abstracts after an international peer review by at least two independent reviewers. The full versions of these accepted papers will be presented at ICNAAM 2005. Following the conclusion of the conference, the participants may submit their full length papers in order to be considered for potential publication in one of the two journals that have accepted to publish selected papers of ICNAAM 2005. After a further thorough international peer review by at least two independent referees, an appropriate selection of the submitted full length papers will be then accepted for publication in one of the journals.
