Description
Electrical engineering software has in recent years progressed from being a minor branch of scientific computing, to become a professional working tool of key importance. No longer the preserve of research workers creating ad hoc programs for specific problems, it has become a part of the electrical engineer`s daily equipment. Its new position and importance are clearly reflected in this book, which comprises the selected papers presented at Electrosoft 90, the first international conference devoted exclusively to electrical engineering software. The thirty papers that make up this volume fall into roughly equal groups: one concerned with the internal software methodology, the other with the user interface and applicational needs. Both will interest makers as well as users of engineering software, for as is evident from many of the contributions, the internal and external viewpoints blend smoothly; they cannot easily be separated by a well-definded dividing line.
