Lurking In The Shadows
Description
(This novel presents my own interpretation of the werewolf myth and cryptid folklore. Certain elements have been reimagined or adapted to serve the narrative and the broader mythology of the Lurking In The Shadows universe.
In later installments, particularly within The Midnight Sons spinoff series, the lore will continue to evolve through my creative lens while also drawing more closely from traditional legends where appropriate.)
Jay thought surviving high school would be the hardest part of his life.
He was wrong.
After a violent fight with a classmate goes viral, Jay finds himself caught between public attention, a looming lawsuit, and a home that feels more like a battlefield than a refuge. The pressure builds fast. At school, people whisper his name. At home, silence is more dangerous than shouting.
Then the killings start.
A family is torn apart in the middle of the night. The scene is brutal. No forced entry. No gunshots. Just broken glass and something that shouldn't exist in a quiet neighborhood.
As fear spreads through town, police search for answers. Students are questioned. Rumors turn into paranoia. Something is moving through the recreational woods behind the houses, watching, waiting.
And whatever it is... it doesn't attack without reason.
Blending psychological tension, raw family trauma, and cryptid horror, Werewolf is a dark entry in the Lurking In The Shadows universe where pain has consequences and some things answer when you've been hurt long enough.
The monster is real.
The question is why it chose this town.
