Description
A concise but comprehensive textbook aimed at candidates for the new MRCPCH examination, which will also be extremely useful for general practitioners sitting the Diploma of Child Health examination. It is structured logically by body system (with additional chapters on such topics as genetics, immunology, haematology, metabolic diseases and paediatric surgical emergencies), and will provide both trainees and junior qualified staff with a full understanding of all of the areas covered by the MRCPCH. Whilst written by a single author for consistency of style and readability, it features contributions by a number of paediatric sub-specialists, for example from the renowned Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. As such, it contains up-to-date, clinically relevant data from very recent scientific studies in such fast-moving topics as medical genetics and immunology. The book is fully illustrated in black and white throughout with specially-generated artwork and makes much use of tables and algorithms to summarise and simplify complex processes.
