Calculus with Applications

This book explains the basic concepts of calculus and their relevance to real world problems. It focuses on applications, with rigorous emphasis on analysis. Solved examples are given to clarify techniques related to a particular theme.

The text is application oriented - up-to-date applications are drawn from the fields of business, economics, social and behavioural sciences, life sciences, physical sciences, and other fields of general interest. Applications are found in the main body of the text as well as in the exercise sets. Tt includes, wherever possible, at least one real-life application in each section. Appendices discuss concepts and themes such as the number system, trigonometric functions and analytic geometry. Proofs of important theorems are also included.
