Encouraging children to interact with their own locality, this book on shops is one of a series. Information and questions attached to colour photographs ask children to look carefully at the details in the photographs and make comparisons between the photos in the book and their own localities. All questions in the book are answered in a special answers section at the back, along with a glossary of shop-related terms. A packed activity section offers ideas for active project work, helping to develop children's critical faculties and cognitive skills. Specially commissioned photographs for this book were all taken in Leeds and Bradford, so the book can also be used as a locality study.
