Bringing together the work of such theorists as Sara Ahmed, Lynda Birke, Ailbhe Smyth and Lorna Weir, the book uses post-conventional/post-modern theory in the area of bio/logical body and the "clinic". The vital signs of the body - breathing and the pulse - are treated discursively.
