After graduating in Spanish, Graham Shields went on to train as a professional librarian, and has held posts at the universities of Portsmouth, Essex and Bradford. He is currently at the library of the University of Northumbria at Newcastle, where he has subject responsibility for the Modern Languages and Information and Library Management collections. He was awarded an MPhil degree for the first edition of <'>Spain</'> in this series.
