Description
Few things in life can transform, empower, and enlighten our lives the way a dog can. It is a power that can be measured not only by memories and pawprints left on our hearts and souls (and carpets!), but also by the simple wag of a tail or a cheerful greeting at the end of the day. The Power of Paws poignantly illuminates that special magic and takes the reader on a heartfelt and often humorous journey about loyalty, love, and how to let go.
Reviews / Votes
"Gary's book brought back memories of my first true love--an all- knowing collie named Bonnie, who was my big sister and my best friend for thirteen years. In a world of sensory overload, that profound non-verbal connection is the greatest gift."--Wendie Malick, award-winning television actress "My dog, Whiskey, used to put the giggle in my heart. And now that he's gone, my giggle has lost it's sound. After reading The Power of Paws I can feel the giggle in my heart once again."--Dan Lauria, television actor "Just as my pack of five rescue dogs takes me on a journey through my own spirit and heart every day, Gary's stories lead me to that center of joy, wonder, and gratitude for life. If you wish to smile and be healed with pure love, these stories will open that portal to the amazing universe of dogs."--Jennifer Pryor, director of Pryor's Planet, Richard Pryor's animal welfare organization "I wrote a song with a line that said, 'Old dogs care about you even when you make mistakes.' I'm sure Gary Shiebler would understand that song."--Tom T. Hall"I love these books! Wonderful and inspiring stories about our most beloved companions."--Kassie DePaiva, actress "Fittingly, singer-songwriter Gary Shiebler's first book is an ode to the many dog loves of his life. The cast of characters includes not just dogs Shiebler has owned, but also neighborhood dogs, strays, and shelter dogs he connected with while volunteering. From Cocoa, an abused pit bull, to Squeeze, his mischievous mixed breed from the docks, each dog has made its own distinct and lasting mark on Shiebler's heart."--dogchannel.comMore details
