Minority Identities and the Nation State

The essays in this volume contribute to this on-going debate by examining minority rights within the context of the nation state and democratic politics. The authors explore the stresses of minority consciousness and reflect upon the tensions between the democratic-political-rights and cultural claims of minorites as they emerged within the framework of the nation State.
