Description
This pocket reference is designed for radiologists and radiologic technologists who need to ascertain the safety of MRI procedures in patients with metallic bioimplants, prosthesis, and other objects. It contains a tabular listing of metallic implants, devices, and objects that have been tested for movement or deflection forces during exposure to static magnetic fields. The list indicates the highest field strength at which each object was tested, whether or not the object was deflated or moved, and whether the attraction to the magnetic field would pose a hazard for a patient undergoing an MRI procedure. Names and addresses of manufacturers are provided for most of the objects listed.
