Rural Conservation in Inter-war Britain

This book looks at the way in which those living in the 1920s and 1930s perceived and responded to the changes taking place in the countryside. Many of the more fundamental problems affecting land use and management were recognised and tackled for the first time. Remedies were sought both on a piecemeal basis and through a more comprehensive system of town and country planning.
