The State of the Parties

The third edition of this collection takes "parties in flux" as its theme, and covers national, state and local parties, with chapters on topics such as technology, money and campaigns. Major party activists are presented in the context of presidential elections, legislatures, and in the courts. Minor parties - especially the Reform Party - are discussed, and "anchor" pieces by leading scholars seek to ground the book in key scholarship on parties even as they launch it into explorations of party evolution.
