In the world of advertising and design, Dorothy Shaw was dedicated to visual problem solving on a deadline. Now her pleasure also include illustrates children's books, sculpture, and painting. She grew up in Austin, Texas. She drew, painted, sculpted, carved, sewed, and crafted the world around her, feeding her creative hunger at libraries, museums, concert halls, theatre and the University (UT Austin) art department. Eventually she graduated with a B.A. from the University of Texas in Arlington, and began a master's degree in synesthesia - the way we perceive and overlap sensory experiences.She worked as an art director and graphic designer at advertising agencies and design studios in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, metroplex, then opened dotgraphics, inc., in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in the 90s. Her work has included national and international projects, collecting design and illustration awards, including Addy advertising awards in both Texas and Oklahoma.
