Former federal prosecutor Jonathan Shapiro (Los Angeles, CA) is the author of Lawyers, Liars and the Art of Storytelling and the upcoming novel The Zealot Killer. Deadly Force is his first novel. Shapiro has spent the last 15 years writing and producing some of television's most iconic shows, including The Blacklist, Boston Legal, Life, and The Practice. He has received a Peabody and two Humanitas Awards. His first film, Fair and Free, narrated by Associate Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, received an Emmy Award from the Chesapeake Chapter of the Television Academy of Arts and Sciences. Along with David E. Kelley, Shapiro is creator, writer, and executive producer of Goliath, an Amazon Prime legal thriller starring Billy Bob Thornton and William Hurt.
