Description
"This publication provides a compelling examination of the intersections between gender and other marginalities while revealing the multiple levels of discrimination that continue to restrict women within educational spaces across cultures and nations.
In an attempt to provide an intercultural dialogue on gender and political education, this anthology focuses on the unacknowledged presence of gender discrimination across continents, their geographical proximity, migration and the colonial legacy of poor educational attainment, as well as recent EU initiatives in the field of global education. Apart from identifying the problems, the reader is presented with numerous constructive ideas of how to improve gender equality in education, and is provided with critical analyses of the currently emerging trends of gender awareness in the shifting debates on educational reform in various European, North African and sub-Saharan regions.
