Description
Two studies. Theomonarchism is the belief that not man but G*d rules the Children of Israel. Although almost entirely obscured by the normative enthusiasm for the House of David, fragments of it survive in the Biblical text - for example, Gideon's refusal to accept the kingship because G*d is king - and these are identified and analyzed here.
There are three principal, and several minor, terms in the Hebrew Bible which, in English translations, are reduced to a single word ("forgive"), thus erasing the differences between them. In this essay all the relevant passages are identified, translated and analyzed with the objective of understanding what the differences are between the Hebrew terms.
