John Selby was educated at Haileybury, the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, and Christ's College, Cambridge. He is a military historian and Senior Lecturer at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst. His has written numerous other books, including a biography of Stonewall Jackson.
