This book provides a comprehensive and structured guide to designing and modelling smart material actuator and sensor systems. It covers established and technologically promising material systems, specifically thermal shape memory alloys, magnetic shape memory alloys, ferroelectric materials (piezoceramics), and dielectric electroactive polymers.
