Description
This is the second book with this title and, after a short revision chapter, looks at how humankind lives on planet Earth. Renewable and non-renewable resources are described and how their use has impacted on the world’s ecosystems, on land, in the sea and in the atmosphere. This is also discussed with an emphasis on the problems of future energy needs, global warming and social consequences of these events. As well as problems caused by humankind, the natural hazards of the Earth have also been described with the view that many or the world’s populations live in regions that can be very dangerous at times. The contents of this book are also supported with many photos, illustrations and videos. Each chapter is concluded with a Summary, Practical Tips, ten Multichoice Questions and ten longer Review and Discussion Questions. Book 2 also has an accompanying PRACTICAL MANUAL with a large number of experiments and data analysis activities which can be performed by students using basic available equipment in support of the textbook.
