Description
"The Automated Smith Chart" is a real time computer based (CRT) Smith Chart for impedance matching problems. This new software eliminates the time consuming process and risk of drawing errors common to the use of paper charts. The menu-driven interactive basis for the "Automated Smith Chart" carefully reads the scales, goes back and forth between normalized and unnormalized units while retaining the power and generality of graphical solutions. Both lumped and transmission line elements are available on the element menu and can be mixed in the solution. "The Automated Smith Chart" provides a fast, accurate means to design, modify, test, and optimize impedance matching or other ladder type network circuits. System requirements are IBM/PC and compatibles operating with DOS 2.1 or higher, or the Hewlett Packard 9000, series 200 (9816, 9836). A large colour video monitor with good resolution is desirable, and a math coprocessor chip will improve operating speed.
