Description
[Stuttgart Islam Study. A sociological snapshot of the panorama of Islamic communities in the inner metropolitan region of Stuttgart]
Little is known about the lives of Islamic communities in Germany's economic and high-tech centres. What is life like for Islamic communities in the Stuttgart area, the largest metropolis in south-west Germany with 2.7 million inhabitants? The Stuttgart Islam Study now provides facts and figures. It is the follow-up study to the Stuttgart Worship and Community Study and was also conducted at the Liebenzell Institute for Missiological, Religious, Intercultural, and Social Studies (LIMRIS). Through empirical research, it has been possible to determine reliable visitor numbers directly from Islamic communities. In addition to presenting and interpreting this data, the study contains portraits of two Islamic communities and religiously active Muslims. The sociological study of religion is rounded off by further contributions from Christian and Muslim authors.
