Person
Jonathan Schmidt grew up in a small town in Illinois; he earned his bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University and his MD from the University of Illinois. During his Family Medicine residency, he focused on Direct Primary Care (DPC) and served as Chief Resident his final year. Practicing DPC has allowed him to develop strong relationships with his patients and focus on preventative care. He was an early adopter of GLP-1 medications for his patients and himself. He has discovered helpful methods to not only use these medications for weight loss but also to keep the weight off long term. When Dr. Schmidt is not practicing medicine, he loves spending time with his wife and three children boating in the warm seasons and doing house projects during the cold seasons.
