Andreas Slominski

Ausgangspunkt der Ausstellung und des Kataloges von Andreas Slominski ist die Dauerleihgabe von Werken aus der Sammlung von Bärbel und Manfred Holtfrerich, aus der ein ausgewähltes Konvolut in die Kunsthalle Bremen gelangt.
Die Sammlung umfasst insgesamt 42 Arbeiten, darunter kleinformatige Werke, Skulpturen und Objekte, Editionen und graphische Arbeiten aus verschiedenen Werkphasen des Künstlers.
Die Möglichkeit, gesammelte Werke unter ästhetisch optimalen Bedingungen in einem Museumskontext zu zeigen und einem größeren Publikum zur Verfügung zu stellen, ist ebenso Motivation wie die Möglichkeit das künstlerische Werk von Andreas Slominski unter anderen Kategorien und Themenkomplexen zusammenzustellen und neue Sichtweisen auf das Werk anzuregen.
Für die Publikation, die Ausstellung und Sammlung dokumentiert, wurden alle Werke sorgfältig fotografiert. Den umfangreichen Abbildungsteil ergänzt ein systematisches Verzeichnis der Werke. Textbeiträge aus unterschiedlichsten Disziplinen wie der Zahnmedizin, Literatur, Kunst- und Kulturwissenschaft nähern sich dem Werk von Andreas Slominski anhand verschiedener Perspektiven und Kontexte.

The starting point of Andreas Slominski's exhibition is the long-term loan of works from the collection of Bärbel and Manfred Holtfrerich, from which a selection has found its way into the Kunsthalle Bremen. The collection comprises some 42 works, including sculptures and objects, small editions, photographs and pictures from different work phases of the artist. The opportunity to show collected works in a museum context in aesthetically optimal conditions and to make them available for a wider public is also a motivation as is the possibility to put the artist's works together in new categories and thematic complexes, stimulating new points of view about the work. The catalogue similarly can be understood as a further development and extension of the work beyond the documentation of the exhibition.
