Doing Science and Doing Good

This work includes all of the affiliated programs of LSI and the Bureau of Child Research at the University of Kansas such as the Parson's Research Center, the Kansas Center, the Juniper Gardens Project, the Kansas Mental Retardation Research Center, the Beach Center on Disabilities, and the Gerontology Center, among others, and also takes a brief look into how the fields of disabilities and child research have changed across the decades. Historical perspectives on influential leaders, on discoveries that advanced research and intervention, and on relevant legislation are also offered. Years spanned are 1921 to 2006.
