Dr. Schena received his B.A. in biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of California, San Francisco and studied as a postdoctoral fellow in the department of biochemistry at Stanford University. Dr. Schena published the first two papers on DNA microarrays in 1995 and 1996, wrote the first two books on microarrays, edited the only textbook on the subject, and has given more than 100 lectures in 20 countries to advance the science worldwide. Dr. Schena is currently a visiting scholar in the ArrayIt Life Sciences Division at TeleChem International, Inc.
